The Durafine Advantage

Durafine Coatings is a “full service” manufacturer of water-borne industrial coatings and release agents. We also custom-manufacture to your requirements, including color matching.

RELEASE AGENT FOR RUBBER : AQUACOAT SR-61 SERIES

  • Aquacoat SR-61 is a semi-permanent, water-based release agent designed for high-temperature rubber moulding (up to 260°C) with minimal transfer to moulded parts.
  • It is easy to apply, provides multiple releases, prevents mould build-up, and enhances part quality with a dry, uniform, semi-gloss finish.
  • Especially suitable for rubber applications including tire production, and works universally with all rubber types while reducing the need for external paints

RELEASE AGENT FOR RUBBER TO METAL APPLICATION: SR-6010-12

  • SR-6010-12 is a semi-permanent, water-based release agent designed for high-temperature rubber moulding (stable up to 260°C), offering excellent slip and abrasion resistance with no transfer to moulded parts.
  • It is especially suitable for rubber-metal bonding and special rubber compounds like HNBR, providing a dry, semi-gloss finish and preventing build-up on moulds.
  • Easy to apply, requires just two thin coats, and offers multiple releases per application, making it efficient and cost-effective for industrial moulding processes.

CONVEYOR BELT

  • Aquacoat SR-61 V2 is a semi-permanent, water-based release agent ideal for high-temperature (up to 260°C) rubber moulding with minimal transfer to moulded parts.
  • It is especially suited for the production of conveyor belts, offering a dry, semi-gloss finish, excellent slip, and abrasion resistance.
  • Easy to apply, provides multiple releases per application, and reduces build-up on moulds, improving production efficiency.

ANTITACK 806 SERIES

  • Excellent Release Properties: Prevents sticking of non-vulcanized rubber during storage, especially effective in the Batch Off process.
  • Fast Drying & Low Foaming: Ensures quick application and minimal foam, improving efficiency.
  • Corrosion Inhibitors & Dust-Free: Protects equipment and ensures a clean, smooth application.

Durafine Case Study

Increasing Efficiency in Rubber Molding with Durafine Semi-Permanent Release Agents

A high-output rubber components manufacturer—producing automotive and industrial seals, gaskets, and bushings—was struggling with frequent mold fouling, part surface defects, and high maintenance in their compression and injection molding lines. Their traditional release agent system required constant reapplication and led to inconsistent results.

The Problem
Key Challenges Faced

  • Frequent reapplication of release agents after every 1–2 cycles
  • Mold build-up causing defects, cleaning downtime, and increased scrap
  • Release agent transfer to molded parts, leading to post-processing issues (e.g., bonding, painting)
  • Operator exposure to high-VOC solvents in manual application areas
These problems created production delays, increased labor costs, and limited capacity for scale-up.

Durafine's Solution
Durafine introduced a semi-permanent release agent system tailored for rubber molding processes involving both natural and synthetic elastomers (EPDM, NBR, SBR, FKM, and silicone).
Solution highlights

  • Water-based, semi-permanent release agent
  • Forms a thin, heat-cured barrier that allows multiple releases (5–20 cycles)
  • Leaves no transfer on molded parts—ideal for bonding or painting
  • Low-VOC, non-flammable, safer for workers and compliant with global regulations
  • Compatible with compression, injection, and transfer molding
